Incorporating Special Moments to Your Day
Wedding days are full of special moments. It starts from when you wake up and get ready with your girls, until you’re speeding away in your getaway car with your forever person. Marriage is so sacred and your wedding day is just the beginning.
Being a coordinator, I get to see all parts of the day! I see an empty venue turn into the vision that you have been waiting to see since your engagement. I see sweet interactions between parents watching their children make a consecrated commitment. I catch a glimpse of grandparents reliving their wedding day through yours. Getting to sit back and watch you and your groom dance the night away with your closest friends and family is truly a treasure.
The day itself is already special! Here are some ways you can add extra special moments to make the day unique.
Do your first look in the morning while you are in your getting ready clothes & have a cup of coffee together. This is a super intimate way to start rest of your lives! It may help the nerves for the day of too!
Ask your officiant to collect letters from your loved ones and have him/her read it out loud during the ceremony.
Incorporate a religious ritual.
This is different, but could totally be talked about for decades… have your guest sing you down the aisle. Give your singer friends or family the responsibility of getting the song started!
Have a special moment with your mom before the ceremony privately (well with your photographer too).
Instead of your best man holding the rings, give a parent the responsibility.
When the ceremony ends, bride & groom release your guest row by row, hugging them all as they come to the aisle. This is super special for weddings with a smaller guest size.
For those loved ones that have passed on from this life, create a memorial table. Reserve a seat if it’s someone that would be on the first row.
Eat cake in your getaway car!
Dance with both your mother and father. Half way through the song, switch!
Those are some special moments that you can incorporate in your day to make your guest “ooohhh” & “awe”.
Here are my favorite moments as your coordinator:
Father of the Bride & Bride chit chat before he walks her down he aisle.
Mom of the bride talking about her daughter when she was a girl.
The bride & groom have said “I do” and the energy in the room is electric.
The bride & groom’s face when you hand them their first post nuptial drink!
The laughter and giddiness of you and your girls getting ready in the bridal suite.
When the father of the bride speaks at the reception.
Father daughter dance and me picturing my husband and daughter.
When all of your vendors arrive and they are just as excited to be there as you!
When it comes down to it, make this day your own! This is a pivotal milestone in your life; leave the day with no regrets. To ensure that all the things you want to have happen happen, hire a coordinator that you have full confidence in! We are there to make sure the day goes smoothly, and on time to give you and your guest ample time for dinner & dancing.
As always we want your marriage to be more beautiful than any wedding we could ever produce, but we also want the day to be talked about years down the road!
Happy Creating,
McKay
